Free Guided Farm Walks

Feldon Forest Farm: Saturday 8th October 2011 at 2pm

Frankton, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV23 9PD

 The free of charge walk will cover various aspects of the Farm to include:

 ·         Background to Farm

·         Organic Sector

·         Rare Breeds

·         Orchards

·         Vegetables

·         Wildflower Meadows

·         Environmental Stewardship

·         Woodland / River

·         Livestock / Wildlife


After the walk there will be light refreshments free of charge and the opportunity to talk to the farmer about possible on-farm projects and meet experts on organic food production, environmental management and the LEADER programme. You will have the chance to purchase local produce: homemade jams, apples, meat, wool and sheepskins.

 Please ensure you wear suitable clothing and footwear as the walk will involve walking through fields and uneven surfaces.

  • Thinking about applying for Leader funding?

    The Programme Team would like to invite you along to an informal workshop for new applicants @ Garden Organic on Wednesday 29th February 10am - 12pm. This will be an informal session providing general advice and tips on filling in the application form.

    We will also be providing One to One Support Sessions @ Garden Organic on Friday 2nd March 9.30 - 4.30pm providing an opportunity to look in detail at your individual project and tailoring your application form.

  • The Baginton Events group has received funding and support through LEADER funded umbrella project, Arts On Our Doorstep, to bring together a traditional village fete and a live music show, creating a large community event with free daytime entertainment and an evening concert and fireworks display. Proceeds from the event will contribute to other community activities in the village.

  • Canalside Community Food, based in Radford Semele, has benefited from the support of LEADER funded umbrella project 'Get Growing' to purchase a pole barn for vegetable storage.

  • Five Acre Farm has benefited from the support of LEADER funded umbrella project 'Get Growing' to purchase - tools, compost, enviromesh, a shed, tractor service and seeds to help establish their brand new CSA

    The next call deadlines are as follows:

    Friday 8th July 2011 - This deadline is for Expressions of Interest or Full Applications for projects related to any of the 3 Central Warwickshire Villages LEADER programme themes of Community Growing, Community Arts and Linking Land Based Industries.
